Bill-28: Canada
finally adopts an anti-spam law – New
challenges for electronic
communications.
Electronic
communications will now be
governed by much stricter rules
aiming at eliminating some
practices that were discouraging
commercial activities by
electronic means. Spam, together
with similar threats from
unsolicited electronic contacts
(including identity theft,
phishing, spyware, viruses and
botnet) will now be subject to
administrative and monetary
sanctions. The business
community must rapidly deploy
adequate communication
strategies in order to comply
with this new legal environment.
